Located in Southwestern Kentucky, Water Valley is a Graves County city with a population of approximately 283 according to the United States Census Bureau. Water Valley originally served as a depot for the New Orleans and Ohio Railroad in 1858. The depot was known as Morse Station. In 1870, a post office was established at the site of the depot. Two years later the post office was named Water Valley. In 1884, Water Valley became incorporated.
Individuals who visit Water Valley will discover that few remnants of its past remain. The small city is now occupied by the Water Valley Baptist Church and the Water Valley U.S. Post Office.
